Let me ask you a question - would you hire an accountant who can't do
math? Would you give your taxes to someone who has no
experience
with numbers?
Then why have we elected a Congress that is short on fiscal experience?
Congress's primary responsibility is setting and maintaining
the
United States budget - controlling the spending of our federal
government. True, Congress also sets policy and creates laws,
but
its primary enforcement mechanism is fiscal control through the budget
of the United States.
Rich Baker has the experience to responsibly negotiate a reasonable
fiscal policy for the United States. Spending needs to be
challenged, questioned, and investigated. Some spending is
needed
to perform the actions of government, but wasteful and irresponsible
spending helps no one.
From his background in software engineering to his studies of corporate
balance sheets and income statements as as Intellectual Property
Executive, Rich Baker is comfortable with numbers and comfortable with
finance. When Rich Baker joined the Pentucket Regional School
Committee, the finances were in total disarray. Rich Baker
investigated, studied, challenged, and reached an understanding of the
budget drivers - and managed those components, with the rest of the
Committee, until the School District's finances came back under
control. After 2 years, the district moved from fiscal chaos
to a
district with a healthy financial outlook.
When you look at the other candidate for Congress from the
Massachusetts 6th Congressional District, you have a lawyer without
financial experience, let alone the experience managing
tough financial situations that Rich Baker can bring to the federal
government.
